Greasewood

was frequently utilized by the Native Americans of the Western
U.S. Common uses were arrow and atlatl dart foreshafts, and
digging sticks.

Chars

cultures, charring was a technique of preserving wood in ancient
times. In Japan, it is still utilized today and is known as
Yakisugi. The Western translation is known as Shou Sugi Ban.
